GOD in a box

Bookshelf of Bibles
Picture for a moment a box that has wide white tape wrapped around it, sealing it shut,  and written on it in red letters says “GOD INSIDE” Use extreme caution when opening! Get ready for the most shocking thing you’ve ever seen! Brace yourself! OK, now open the Box… There’s NOTHING THERE! There never was… anything you can see anyway. Now I’m not trying to discredit the bible or the need of it; where would I be without it! I’d be lost that’s where. Yet my point is,  It is like the Jews were in Jesus’s day with the temple who thought they had God in a box, all “figured” out, on their side, in their house; the temple in Jerusalem. Yes, God would manifest there at times; although He plainly told them He did not dwell in a building 2 Sam. 7:5-7. Furthermore in the New Testament when Stephen was addressing the Sanhedrin he says plainly also quoting the Old Testament:

“But it was Solomon who built a house for him. “However, the Most High does not live in houses made by human hands. As the prophet says: “ ‘Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What kind of house will you build for me? says the Lord. Or where will my resting place be? Has not my hand made all these things?’ “You stiff-necked people! Your hearts and ears are still uncircumcised. You are just like your ancestors: You always resist the Holy Spirit!” (Acts 7:47–51, NIV)

Where is GOD?

The Apostle Paul clarifies this adding to what was said above by Stephen:

“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16, NKJV)

Why do you think that the corners of your forehead came to be known as the temple? Think about it…

Jesus had told them they needed to change the way they think (repent) about GOD when he was talking to the woman at the well about where to worship. He said:

“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”” (John 4:23–24, NIV)

The Spirit of God (GOD) cannot be restricted to any construction or container; no spirit can; we have a lot to learn about that… Jesus was teaching and proclaiming the Good News that the Kingdom of God was about to come (Mk. 1:15) “on earth as it is in heaven” (Mat 6:10). A new world was coming along with a new covenant that was of the Spirit – inside out; not outside in! (Jer. 31:31-34, 2Cor. 3:6) Repent – change the way you think about GOD; and believe the Good News! This Good News was for all mankind (Lk. 2:10) as Jesus Christ had come to save the world (John. 3:17; 1Jhn 4:14) and draw ALL people to himself! (John. 12:32) Furthermore Peter preaching on the Day of Pentecost, quoting an Old Testament prophet that the Holy Spirit was being poured out on ALL people! (Act 2:16-17) And Peter was saying it was right THEN not 2000 years later… A new Day in the relationship of GOD and man had come along with the Kingdom of GOD!

Now to make this unmistakably clear GOD was going to do the unthinkable as Jesus had predicted. GOD would demonstrably illustrate this by destroying Jerusalem and completely leveling the Temple of God! Thus symbolically and literally tearing down the wall of the religion that separated mankind into two groups; the in and the out.  It happened just as Jesus had said it would within that generation (Lk. 21:32) and some of those he spoke with would see it as he said they would (Mat. 16:28) – it happened in 70 AD.

This made it forever impossible to go back to the old Jewish religion and all that outward show of piousness; a religion of the works of the flesh not the Spirit and heart. I can’t imagine why anyone today would want to go back to it; have they read it with all the laws and regulations on every area of life; six hundred and thirty something of them! And that’s besides the animal sacrifices which never did any real good and  have not and cannot ever be brought back. Who would want that? By the way the whole law for the Jewish people was a unit. It cannot be broken down into sections to keep some and throw away others. The Apostle James said if you broke one you broke them ALL! Apostle Paul said something similar to the effect that you had to keep THE WHOLE LAW! (James 2:10; Gal. 5:3) As for me, I praise GOD for the Truth of the New Covenant and the New Age of The Spirit!

“And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.” (2 Corinthians 3:3, ESV)
“who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
Now if the ministry of death, carved in letters on stone, came with such glory that the Israelites could not gaze at Moses’ face because of its glory, which was being brought to an end, will not the ministry of the Spirit have even more glory? For if there was glory in the ministry of condemnation, the ministry of righteousness must far exceed it in glory. Indeed, in this case, what once had glory has come to have no glory at all, because of the glory that surpasses it. For if what was being brought to an end came with glory, much more will what is permanent have glory.
Since we have such a hope, we are very bold, not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face so that the Israelites might not gaze at the outcome of what was being brought to an end. But their minds were hardened. For to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away. Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their hearts. But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.” (2 Corinthians 3:6–18, ESV)

Oh I do not doubt others with a different persuasion’s encounter or relationship with GOD; I’m sure they have on some level realized God. Although few fully realize the full awesomeness, magnitude, majesty and Glory of just who, what, where GOD is and what GOD our Father is doing and has done for us ALL; neither do I of anyone else. It’s all just too far beyond our ability to take it in if we did know. The Apostle Paul put it like this:

“For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might HAVE MERCY ON ALL.
Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!”
(Romans 11:32–33, NKJV)

The word here for “disobedience” in the Greek is – 1. apeitheia (ἀπείθεια, 543), literally, “the condition of being unpersuadable”*1 The Greek for “unsearchable” is closely related – 32.23 ἀνεξεραύνητος, ον; ἀνεξιχνίαστος, ον: pertaining to being impossible to understand on the basis of careful examination or investigation‘impossible to understand, unfathomable, impossible to comprehend.’*2. The words for “judgments” here in Greek is – 30.110 κρίσιςg, εως f; κρίμαf, τος n: *3 as ‘judge in a righteous manner’ or ‘judge according to true standards.’ The words for “past finding out” in Greek are 453 ἀνεξιχνίαστος (anexichniastos), ον (on): adj.; ≡ Str 421; TDNT 1.358—LN 32.23” impossible to understand, unsearchable, inscrutable, incomprehensible”*4

You or I could not take it in or accept it in our finite minds; it is simply impossible for us. As Paul puts it here; for us – it’s just past finding, or figuring out. Although the Bible gives us enough hints to get me thoroughly and extremely excited about it all! Praise The Lord!

And He who sits on the throne said,
“Behold, I am making “ALL THINGS NEW” (Rev 21:5)

What does “ALL THINGS” not include?
Notice this says “Make-ing” The word in the original is in the Present Tense in the Indicative Mood – represents contemporaneous action, as opposed to action in the past or the future. In moods other than in the indicative mood, it refers only to continuous or repeated action. This speaks of an “ongoing” event – not a one time event as most have “assumed”

Try to broaden your thinking a little bit when you read things that “GOD” says

Would not “ALL THINGS” include ALL people? ALL spirits? The animal Kingdom? Our pets?  Try to broaden your thinking a little bit when you read things that GOD says; He is concerned with much more than just particular persons or individual families, nations, religion, dimension, and realm in which we live and have our consciences. When He speaks, He speaks from an infinite realm beyond our comprehension.

Think about it. When something stops growing, renewing, refreshing, and revitalizing it is either dying or dead. So are the outdated stagnate doctrines that have kept God in a persons particular religious box…… It is totally illogical to accept new understanding, knowledge, perceptions and insights of everything from medical, historical, geographical, to technological things. Then have the arrogant audacity to think we already know everything there is to know about God and reject any new revelation or understanding as false doctrine and heretical; or we are modern day occult witches! The church behaved like that in the past; I hope it doesn’t repeat it’s history… Our knowledge of everything else is expanding because of our advancing education and technology; why not GOD and His Word?
Grace, Peace and Love to all,
